NIS – Newly Independent States; CA – Central Asia. According to John Hopkins University Covid-19 has already killed over 80,000 people and infected 1.4 mln others globally as of the beginning of April 2020. Governments around the globe introduce efforts to fight the novel virus: from radical to very moderate. Some are already starting to weaken measures amid the risk of economic collapse. Currently, the number of officially confirmed Covid-19 cases in Ukraine has reached 2,777 as of 9.00 a.m. on Apr 12, according to the Ukrainian MOH. To prevent the rapid spread of the novel virus, the government has intensified quarantine measures starting on April 6. It is now forbidden to go out without medical masks and visit public places like parks, squares, recreation areas, forest parks, coastal zones.
The key regulatory document voted by the Ukrainian Parliament is the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts Aimed to Ensure Additional Social and Economic Guarantees Due to the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-2019) Spread" dated March 30, 2020 (link).
